If you’re planning to stay in the Jungfrau region for longer than 3 days, I would highly recommend the Jungfrau Travel Pass. The Jungfrau region encompasses Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, Murren, Grindelwald and many other beautiful locations pictured on the map above. It includes most trains, cable cars, boats, funiculars, and buses. The routes highlighted in yellow on the map above show all of the included destinations with the pass. The areas highlighted in white show discounted rates if you purchase the travel pass, they do cost additional money, but the discount is 1/2 off the normal price.

There are a few different locations that the Jungfrau pass can be purchased, electronically (reference the link above), at any train station in the region, or at any visitor center in the region. We purchased ours at the visitor center, and they were super friendly and helpful! A few important things to note, KEEP YOUR RECEIPT! If you decided to extend your stay or lose your pass you will need this to show proof of purchase. IF you plan to extend your stay, you will only pay the difference in the day-to-day pricing. For example, if you extend from 3 to 4 days, the cost per adult ticket would be 25 CHF. Public transportation can get very expensive very quickly if you are traveling all over that region. For us, it paid for itself by day 2.
There are a few locations excluded from the Jungfrau pass, that being said, if you had the pass those places were ~50% off. There were also discounts at various shops if you had the pass, those were around 10% off. The major locations that were excluded – Jungfraujoch and Gimmelwald. The pass is not valid in winter. The passes can be purchased the beginning of April through early November.
I really hope this is helpful! I found a lot of value in purchasing the Jungfrau pass. If you have any questions or comments, please post those below!
In the meantime, keep adventuring 🙂 XO, Joanna
